Immunization
There have been a lot of changes in immunization recommendations in the recent past.
The new recommendations of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices are available for your review.
This site also offers these recommendations in Adobe Acrobat PDF format.
Development
An organization called KidSource has a page which reviews World Wide Web articles on infant and child development.
See the Treatment Room for other links to KidSource.
Bright Futures is the best information I know of on the web for issues involving child development.
We strongly advocate breastfeeding as the preferred form of infant nutrition for at least the first 6 months of life.
The makers of infant formula,
Mead-Johnson
(Enfamil) also promote breastfeeding and
their site provides useful information on this and other
nutrition issues.
Ross
Laboratories (Similac) also has a section called Welcome
Addition Online.
Another site, BabyBag, also offers resources for breastfeeding parents.
Safety
Prevention of accidents and injuries is an ongoing challenge. Accidents continue to be the leading cause of death in young children.
There are several sources of safety information I have found on the web. Check out Babyhood for safety-related links and other issues in baby and child care.
